My Interest

I am Gordon Joseph Clarke. I have a lot of older interests and current interests reflected by this website.  Some of these interests are the fine and performing arts, basketball, gymnastics, juggling, unicycling, road cycling, capoeira, graphic design, photography, audio/video production, website development, start-ups and entrepreneurial activities.

I got hooked on acrobatics when I say “Trapeze” in the late 50’s starring Burt Lancaster , Tony Curtis, and Gina Lollobrigida.  I want to fly, swing, and flip.  In one scene Burt and Tony walked down an alley talking while walking on their hands.  I had a swing set, trees, and walls to climb. I started kicking up to my hands to attempt a handstand.  This interest continued into junior high where I started do the “bars” and tumbling.  As a freshman in high school, I made the gymnastic team.  My college team placed in the top 5 in the nation three different years.  I was all-around, so I worked the 6 Olympics events.

I am now a Business Development Manager and the Certification Manager for FamilySearch where I have been employed for the last 9 years.  My career has been sales, marketing, and business start-ups in the areas of finance, insurance, computers, software, automated accounting, digital video, CD-ROMs, and websites.

In this the “About Me” category of my blog,  I will add thoughts and activities that are more personal.
