{"id":37,"date":"2015-02-21T15:20:06","date_gmt":"2015-02-21T15:20:06","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/gordonjclarke.com\/?p=37"},"modified":"2017-01-15T14:33:45","modified_gmt":"2017-01-15T14:33:45","slug":"test-about-my-family","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/gordonjclarke.com\/?p=37","title":{"rendered":"Gordon&#8217;s Family"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><a href=\"https:\/\/gordonjclarke.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/family.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\" size-large wp-image-25 aligncenter\" src=\"https:\/\/gordonjclarke.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/family-1024x384.jpg\" alt=\"family\" width=\"610\" height=\"229\" srcset=\"https:\/\/gordonjclarke.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/family-1024x384.jpg 1024w, https:\/\/gordonjclarke.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/family-300x113.jpg 300w, https:\/\/gordonjclarke.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2015\/02\/family.jpg 1200w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 610px) 100vw, 610px\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>I was born when my family was living in Lancaster, California.\u00a0 I had an older brother, Steven, and sister, Joanne.\u00a0 6 years after my birth by young sister, Ellen was born.\u00a0 We all still lived in Lancaster when she was born.\u00a0 I was in going into the 3rd grade when we moved to the San Fernando Valley in southern California.\u00a0 That was it four kids.\u00a0 The boys shared one room and the girls another in a 3 bedroom house I lived in Van Nuys for almost 15 years\u00a0until I got married and moved out.<\/p>\n<p>We were a close, generally healthy and happy family that had regular &#8220;culturally&#8221; activities (theater, air shows, tennis lessons, rodeos, etc.) and annual vacations that sometimes included reunions with extended family. Dad ran\u00a0his insurance agency.\u00a0 Mom was his secretary, bookkeeper, and wife.\u00a0 So our family had an authoritative workaholic father\u00a0and an artistic put-her-children-first mother.<\/p>\n<p>I was married to Catherine for almost 18 years which brought us 5 children.\u00a0 The 5th one died shortly after birth which experience may have emphasized that we were not growing closer together as a couple. Our family had lots of fun activities and started home schooling shortly after our fourth child started kindergarten.
